The Bell in Ticehurst

Trendy pub and restaurant up the road in Ticehurst.  Good food, great place for a party!


The Great House

16th Century Inn in nearby Hawkhurst. The Great House is an old smugglers Inn which has been tastefully renovated and is now a popular dining pub in Hawkhurst. Serving traditional English cuisine, regional French brasserie style cuisine created by our French chef as well as local seasonal game.  Rosebank B&B guests get 10% of food on Sunday-Monday, just ask Kate for our discount card! We highly recommend The Great House for the constant great food and atmosphere.


Salehurst Halt

A great country pub – freehouse    A good pint and simple but delicious food especially for the carnivores, meat from Busters farm shop just around the corner!  We recommend Sunday Lunch.


The Bistro at the Station

Five minute walk from Rosebank.  Great for coffees, lunch snacks and open Wed-Sat in the evening for supper and a glass of wine or two.  Very pretty courtyard garden to sit out in the warmer months.  Friday night is pizza night cooked in the pizza oven in the garden – you will need to book!


The George Inn Robertsbridge

Former 18th Century coaching Inn in Robertsbridge.  Family run, friendly pub and award winning restaurant.


The Rose and Crown Burwash

Just up the road in historic Burwash – our local pub.   Beautiful characterful pub, perfect for a pint or two of local Harveys Bitter and good pub grub! Welcoming and worth a visit!

Bodiam Castle

Beautiful remains of 14th Century moated castle in Bodiam.  National Trust Café on site.  Canal boat tours down to Newenden and back see www.bodiamboatingstation.co.uk for details.


Battle Abbey

Explore the atmospheric ruins of William the Conquerors famous Abbey. Stand on the spot where King Harold died.




Visit the Jacobean home of Rudyard Kipling where he wrote “The Jungle Book” and “Just So” stories. Beautiful spring flowers in the garden.  Owned by the National Trust and frequent tours and events.


Scotney Castle Gardens

Country house, romantic garden, 14th Century moated castle all in a beautiful wooded estate. National Trust



Sissinghurst Gardens


Sissinghurst is among the most famous gardens in England and is Grade 1 listed. Now owned by The National Trust. Home of the famous “White Garden”.



Merriments Gardens

This colourful garden in Hurst Green is a showcase for the nursery that it accompanies.

Just up the road in Etchingham.  Eight acres of beautiful gardens and a nursery/tea room attached.    Closed on Tuesdays

Places of Interest

Bedgebury Pinetum

The most important single site for conifer conservation in the world. Perfect place for walking and cycling. Home of GO APE, an assault course in the treetops!



Chapel Down Winery

Englands leading wine producer, Chapel Down is located near Tenterden in Kent. Guided tours, fantastic bar and restaurant “The Swan”. The shop sells local produce and of course their wonderful wine!


Oxney Organic Estate

A family run vineyard situated near Rye which specialises in organic sparkling wine.  They do vineyard tours and also Oxney Lunch Tours which all include tastings.  See the their website for more details:
